Great Saturday..

The family pool party was enjoyed by the largest group of swimmers that we have seen in a long time. Even the threat of rain didn't keep away all these splish, splash Village people. The pool was just right for all the big and little people who came together for a couple hours. Games were played and they were treated with their favorite lunch. Your grilling cooks, Bo and Pat A. were right there cookin' for everyone who was hungry. The Lakewood Village Social Club provided the sandwich's and swimmers brought the snacks. Everyone who came were amazed at how well everyone enjoyed the friendship of our neighbors. There was even talk of having another family pool party before school starts up again. Keep watching for an announcement of something happening. Special thanks to Tamra for getting me the pictures.........Thanks to all....

Just a reminder!!!!!

/Monday the 4th of July is YOUR village picnic that is for all residents to come over and have a morning of fun . There will be more put out this week. Watch for your flyer....

Summer family pool party

This Saturday is the Lakewood Village Family pool party....

At 11:00 am all residents are invited to come to our beautifully, clean pool for the annual family pool party. Please everyone wear your badges as this is the one rule that applies. They will have some food but we should all bring some snacks and our drinks. It should be hot, hot again so bring some sunscreen for your group.

Ernie H, Doris C., Barb M., Mary L. and Rita P.

These birthday children all belong to Lakewood Village and we hope that they have a wonderful day come June 20, this Monday. In case you missed this, they all share the SAME day........ (Not the same year) . If you see any one of them be sure to WISH THEM A HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I know there are more this month and will try to get them closer to their day.

Father's Day

This Sunday is the National Father's Day and we want to acknowledge all the fathers in our Village. Without the help of you fathers we wouldn't get much done and we do appreciate all that you do. It seems this year everyone is busy or gone to other activities so there will not be a luncheon this Sunday but we will be thinking of all you wonderful dads. Go out there and be with your family and friends.

Happy Summer Days

The days are moving right along with the heat and sunshine. The activities are a slow and standstill for a few weeks.

Our roads are being all resurfaced so we will have the look of new driveways. Everyone will be pleased when it is all done.

I have chatted with Pat A. and she informs me that the interest in the Snack Shack isn't materializing so it will be put on hold until a later day. It is such a good idea that it will be brought up again. Pat is still going to try to keep Coffee hour alive on Tuesday mornings at 9:00 a.m. for those who want to come over and chit chat. This week however the roads will keep us from having it until next week. See you then.

The 25th of this month the Social Club is still planning on hosting a family swim party at our beautiful pool for all Lakewood Village Residents so check your notice for the time. You will have a great DAY. 11:00 to 3:00 as listed in the newsletter....

Good news this afternoon>>> Grace & John G. are doing well and are both healthy and happy. They have their vegetable garden growing and looking forward to the harvest. They have been attending graduations and birthdays. It is wonderful to have such a nice family to live your life with. Have a wonderful summer guys and keep in touch...

Our next project for the entire Village after the pool party is the 4 Th of July Summer pot-luck picnic that is held here in our large clean clubhouse. There are notices being distributed through out the Village. A second one will also be delivered soon. Please check them as it is important for everyone to get one and plan on attending the one summer party that the Lakewood Village Social Club presents. I know that they will be needing donations of baked goods for their cake wheel. Mark us on your calendar. If you bake,,,Let one of the girls know so you can put a special pie or chocolate chip cookie on the judges table. It will be fun...

For the moment keep Nancy D. in your prayers as she is in the hospital with some broken bones. Our thoughts are with her as she is still very much a good friend of the Village.

A little nonsense now and then is cherished by the wisest people...

Sad News Today

I have the newspaper clipping on our resident, Stuart Thomas who has gone on to be with his sweetheart, Lila. Stuart went to live with his son in Iowa last December. We all have enjoyed Stu and Lila at our social functions and visits to their home. Our prayers are with their remaining family...

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to two very important people in our Village. Eleanor S. will be celebrating a very happy day with her son and her neighbor, Jim M who also has the same day birthday. Between the 2 of them they have gathered 164 years. Now that is an accomplishment.

Our best wishes to the both of them.. Look them up and see how well they are doing...

Age is not measured by years, but by the amount of enthusiasm for life one has maintained.
