Our Sympathies

No words will ever come close to letting
the family of our own
"Grandmama Nettie"
Know how very much we share your
feelings of grief and loss.

She enriched many, many lives and will never be forgotten.
We have been very blessed to have known her.

Rest in Peace Nettie

News from your reporter

I understand that the parkwide party was enjoyed by a large
group today. Sorry I was not able to attend as we brought
Grandmama home from the hospital this morning.
She is resting most of time and has the family taking care
of her along with many nurses.
We are taking very good care of her as she isn't feeling up to
her usual activities.
At the moment visitation has been limited to just the family and
as you know there are a few here.
We thank you for asking about her and she misses all the fun
that she so enjoyed.
I will try to keep an update on her condition as time progresses.
Hope you all enjoy the activities that the park has to offer as we
are very lucky to have such a compassionate group of people who
live next door and offer of themselves any kind of help that we
all need.

Announcement.

June G. has brought to my attention that was
printed in Saturday's paper:
~~
St John's water management has issued a
schedule for every one's water use outside of your
residences.
This will be enforced all during daylights
savings time.
No watering between 10:00 a.m. and
4:00 p.m. each day that you can water your
lawns, wash cars, homes, etc.
This is the schedule::::
Wednesday and Saturday only ODD numbers
Thursday and Sunday only EVEN numbers
There will no watering on Monday, Tuesday
and Fridays.
~~~
Please take the note and lets comply with
this request from our water supply company.
***
All you have to do is walk over to the lakes in our
Village and see how far down the water has gotten to.
This is sad so please be careful.
****
Thanks June as we all needed to be reminded....
Thank You
I want to thank all my friends and neighbors
who called or stopped by to wish me a
Thought for today
Remember LIFE is like a roll of toilet paper.
The closer it gets to the end, the faster
it goes.
So, have some fun.
Think good thoughts only,
Learn to laugh at yourself
and
count your blessings.
Think of today as a very special day.
I know I will.
Saturday, March 7, 2009
Nettie N. (Grandmama) will be 94 years young
Saturday.
Most of her family will be here to help her
usher in her 94th year with us.
If you don't have a clue who she is then
perhaps you will remember her from all
the parties that the village has had.
"A real Star"
If that isn't enough then perhaps
" Minnie Pearl"
There is no one quite like her as she loves
everyone and we wish her
One Big Happy Birthday
News from your reporter
Well it has been a year since the Lakewood Village Blog was established.
For those who want to know, this is a Brain Child of
Diane Beatty. She was so kind to let me help her in
reporting any news that we thought you would want to see.
Without Diane's knowledge and understanding, no way would
I have been able to do any of this.
This is my first adventure into the computer world and I
have enjoyed all the good news that I was able to report,
sadden by all the unhappy news that I had to report.
The support of all my family has been a tremendous factor
along with those of you that have made comments on articles.
We are sorry if you were or unable to pull up the blog.
It is amazing what a few kind words do to your neighbors
and friends as anyone can see this information.
If you have any comments regarding the reporting of
the Village news, please let us know as we wish this to
be of interest to everyone.
I hope to be able to continue reporting the happenings
and events, and that you will continue to enjoy the wonderful
things in our great Village.
From Diane:
Thanks so much Barb for giving me ALL of the credit for the success of this venture. I beg to differ but ~
Although I may have had the technical ability to set it up and teach you to 'report' on it - and I may do a little spiffing and editing now and then, I may even be able to do a post here and there... but ~
Without your contacts and love of life it would never have gotten off of the ground.
I know I am not alone in saying thank you so very much for all the time, energy, and love you've handed out over the last year.
A great partnership is knowing where your weaknesses are and letting the strengths of another fill those. I have the techinical, you have the people ~ We are a great team!!!
They even involved several from the
Village.
Mexican Dancer
Carlos and Elizabeth B
took us to Mexico with a great dance
that we were were clapping in time with
the music.
India Dancers
came next with Vinni and her nephew
all just right moves.
