Line Dancing

 Monday mornings are always a blast.  Beth V. leads us with our 10 AM calisthenics in the form of a full hour of line dancing.  This week there were enough show up to make 2 lines ~ the good times are growing~

With the warm weather - many of us ladies have decided that we get more of a workout here than we do at Curves!

Joan and Patty help out with their own leads and we all have a hilarious good time.  We have some wonderfully good dancers ~

but even those of us who aren't in that group have a great time.   All the good laughs and companionship keep us all coming back for another workout each week.

Line dancing is at 10 am every Monday morning!

See you there :->

Bunco from Monday Night..

Some fancy bunco's were rolled with multiple winners.
** Pat and Sandy worked hard at rolling 3 bunco's each.**
First place came with 20 rolled by Barb.
Second place was rolled by Jo
and the hot seat goes to Hazel who will be sure to return next week
to turn it over to someone else.
We don't have to many more weeks of these games so we all want to
come and enjoy the time we all have left.
*******
Many thanks to those who help put up the tables and return the clubhouse
to the way it was when we arrived.
Next week we should have all the correct tables in place and we then will be
able to sit more comfortable.
****

The treats this week were provided by Jean and Diane. It is so pleasant to have
a snack during and after our games. Thank You.

VISITORS

On this beautiful Friday afternoon , this is who came to visit...

This afternoon we found wandering our Village a couple of Sand Hill Cranes.

*****************

These birds are not uncommon around here but it is always a wonder to see them moving so freely around our park. They don't bother anyone and they really are not afraid of you but we always keep our distance because they are WILD.

We try to watch for any wild bird or animals around and just view them from a distance.

Nature sure is amazing!!!!!!

Discovery's last launch

Discovery, the world's most traveled spaceship, thundered into orbit this afternoon.
Many Village people stood outside and waited to get a chance to see this amazing trip.
This was Discovery's 39th launch and the 133rd shuttle mission overall.
No other spacecraft has been launched so many times.
***
We here in Lakewood Village have seen many launches in the past as to the north of us the skies are just perfect to watch these missions.
****
Discovery is expected to be eventually put on display by the Smithsonian Institution.
****
Hope everyone has had a chance to see at least one of these beautiful launches. There is to be several more in the next couple months. Watch for them.

SUCCESSFUL TEA PARTY

Yes!!!!! The Lakewood Village Ladies Luncheon Tea Party was a huge success this afternoon.
These wonderful ladies, Toots, Beth and Marilyn made sure our lunch was whipped up and presented in a beautiful array. Our many Tea pots were continuously filled with the most aromatic fragrances. Our humble thanks to you.
*************************
Each table had their picture taken and I have put on only a couple for your enjoyment.
If you notice we had several young ladies present as this was their first official Tea Party. We were all proud and thankful for Connie to invite her granddaughter and best friend.
*****
There were so many people to thank for presenting this afternoon of remembrance in our captivating clubhouse. Each table was decorated to each of the hostess style and there were so many beautiful tea cups and tableware. I don't think anyone was disappointed in any of the presentation.
****
The door prizes and gifts were displayed by Connie who made up some very imaginable baskets for everyone to admire and were given to those who name had been drawn. We really want her to know how much we appreciate all the work and baking that she and other volunteers had done for us.
*******
Dolores had planned the afternoon with so many good idea's and everyone jumped in to help. Peggi once again baked her famous Teapot Cake and as usual was spectacular. She had set up the screen with some of our past luncheons that we were very pleased to review. It was fun to go back a few years to see everyone once again. Our thanks to Patti for printing the tickets and fliers. A special love to Diane who worked over the pictures and cleaned them up and made them so much prettier. Dolores should have them ready for you before the end of the week.
********
Everyone was very co-operative in having their picture taken. Of course it was easy with such beautiful ladies to work with.
To those who stayed around to help put our clubhouse back to our usual setting, we thank you and we do appreciate all that you did to make this another wonderful afternoon.
*****
Keep this day in your memory until next year when we hope to do this again.

Coming up this Saturday is the Ladies Tea party and if you don't have your tickets yet, call Dolores H. as she might have one left...
****
This is one event that all the ladies will come in their finest hats and dresses. Of course the photographer will be on the site to take pictures of these gorgeous ladies. This is really a dream come true.....
****
The tea luncheon begins at 12:30 but pictures will be taken from noon until we begin serving.
There will be drawings, games and a whole of fun all rolled up in the beautiful decorated clubhouse. I'm sure some of you will be amazed at how much thought was given to the outcome of the tea.
****
We are so happy to be able to host such a memorable afternoon for all our beautiful ladies to enjoy.

Wednesday activity report.

Today has been quite a busy one for our Village people.
Everyone has been on the move and I have been given these reports:
This morning your shuffleboard players still played despite so many of the women were missing. 11 showed up and the leader changed with only one leader to date. Ted J. with 18 points will only have 2 more weeks to hold on to this lead. We will be watching.... Would like to thank Bob C. for getting these scores to me so timely.....
********************
The bridge also suffered today as so many of the women were missing but Leween did manage to get me their scores:
Bob came in first with his 3080!!!! great score..
Ed came in next with his score of 2660..
Peggy is next with her score of 2330 and
Lew with the score of 2260.
We hope everyone had a great time as the weather was perfect today...
****************
Bocci was played yesterday and their competition is coming to the end. Next week we will check out their results..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The reason so many of our LADY BUGS were missing. They were enjoying their outing at the Pelican refuse relief , over on A1A and out to the Squid Lips for lunch. It was a most enjoyable afternoon and I know they are still planning more outings very soon.
******
This is one of reasons that our Village is so popular with so many people. There is something going on all the time....If you still have the energy, tonight is WII bowling in the clubhouse at 6:30 so come over and see what the end of the day looks like.
Valentine's dinner,dance
I have heard several reports on the Valentine Dinner Dance and they have all been wonderful.
The Roses appeared that people were very pleased to have on the table.
The food was enjoyed by all and the dancing started and once the band found the right combination, everyone was up on their feet dancing away. The evening was suppose to end at 9:00 but everyone was having such a good time that many stayed around.
We love to hear of these wonderful times that our Village people are having.
******************************************************
Doing your best at this moment puts you in the best place for the next moment.
We are all waiting for the next moment in our Village's social life.......
Thanks Diane for attending and giving this report to me.... You two look very happy....
