Tuesday

Time to plan to get out and Vote Tuesday if you haven't already done so.

Halloween week-end

What a fun week-end everyone had in our beautifully decorated clubhouse. This was a full week-end of first adult swinging and swaying to music with a table full of exciting foods that everyone donated. The decorations were done by the manager and the staff. They did an outstanding job of making it fun along with scary. The costumes that came were done with exceptional taste and simply creative. Our thanks to the Social Club and the office for accepting the responsibility of giving us a time to remember.

Our children came to their party at 5:30 on Sunday and I do believe they surprised the committee that so many were able to attend. It was fantastic that over 100 children and parents took the time to come out and support our community. The Social Club had food and goodies for each and everyone who showed up and even donated food and money so our children could have a get together before heading out to trick or treat the Village. We all ran home to be able to hand out the treats to these very well behaved children of all ages. It was really heart warming to see so many people working together for the betterment of Lakewood Village.

Adult Halloween Party

This Saturday, October 30th, in our decorated clubhouse, all adult witches and goblins are invited to attend their adult frightening Halloween party.
****
Costumes preferred but not mandatory. This is for adults who want to have some fun. Please bring finger food and your own drinks as there is no cover charge for the evening.
*****
This all begins at 7:00 p.m. and will run until we all get tired of the wonderful music that will be provided.
There will be announcements made that we all wish to hear....
The announcement was that we were introduced to at least 4 new families that had joined our community. This is good news....
****
You must have noticed the clock in the upper corner...yes it is that time of year that before you head to bed "Next Saturday night"(November 6) you will need to turn your clocks BACK one hour. You are getting that extra hour that you lost this spring.
****
Sunday afternoon the kiddies will get to come over to the clubhouse for their costume party before heading out to trick or treat. I will be putting more information on about the time so keep watching..

Sad News Today

A good friend and neighbor has gone on to be with her departed family.
Nancy was a valued member of our community and a charter member of the R.O. Board.
She had served on the Social Club board as a treasurer for many years.
We will miss this kind lady who has dealt with pain for many years.

Scores

Bunco scores are in and we sure missed a lot of people this week.
~~~~~~~~~~
Glen won the toss for the most bunco's this evening. Bet he is happy he showed up.
~~~~~~~~~~
Most games were won on a tie also and they go to Mickey and Barb. The evening went quite quickly and Gail jumped all around to have the last laugh.
Thanks guys for the treats and and giggles.

Our thoughts and prayers were with Rita P. as Mike is still in the hospital at the moment. Hopefully we will hear some better news real soon.

Just a friendly reminder that this Thursday the Lakewood Village Golf league will resume at Vista Plantation, after resting this summer.
All golfers, ladies and gentlemen are invited to a season of golfing fun. Golfers should arrive by 8:30 a.m. to allow adequate time for assigning foursomes. This is a great way to get out and enjoy the morning sunshine and get plenty of exercise. (of course you would have to walk the course for all that exercise. Oh well ride the carts.....) Monthly Pot-Luck

The monthly pot-luck was held in the clubhouse with over
40 + people in attendance. Everyone brought their favorite

dishes and added a little extra love to each one.
Fall is in the air with that added crispness to make everyone
a little more bouncy.
We missed our Social Club President as his mother had needed him to help her but the rest of the board was available to do their wonderful job of setting up, cleaning up the clubhouse and making all the announcements that will be posted on our community board.
The evening produced some new faces and some just returning from their summer up north. It was fun to welcome them back and invited them to return for our future activities.
Halloween parties are being planned and we will be watching the news for more information as I'm sure you don't want to miss out on anything.
******
Don't forget your Bunco, Coffee, Bingo, Bowling and swimming activities this week.
******
Open your windows for a while and enjoying the beautiful weather.

Today's News.

Lakewood Village set for Halloween. Scary as it might seem, it is

set with wonderful taste .

Had a call from Lila T. Monday night Stu was admitted to the hospital.
The Doctors are treating him and will probably get some further tests. We will be watching the outcome.

Keep safe Lila and let us know what is happening.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On the lighter side:
~~~~~~~

Today was coffee hour:

We were all welcomed through our Fall decorated entrance to our beautiful clubhouse. I understand that the office was responsible for all the outside decorations. Went inside and the orange, green, red, yellow decorations were done by Pat A and her crew...
~~~~~~~~
Bo and Pat A. have been working your coffee hour all summer so we could keep up with all the news of everyone and we want them to know how much we appreciate all that they do for our Village.
Hopefully this fall and winter some of our residents will take a week or two and host this hour each Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. Let any board member know what you can do to help.
This Thursday will be the social club's monthly meeting at 7:00 p.m. in the main clubhouse.
All residents are invited to attend these meetings.
Have a great week.......
Good- by to an old friend.
A dear old friend of Lakewood Village has gone on to be with his family.
Nicholas Catapano had passed away Sept. 13, 2010, at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
Nick, Filomena and Angela were wonderful neighbors and very generous to all of the people in our Village. When his wife had gotten sick he no longer could care for his daughter so moved where he had all the help he needed. Angela has gone ahead with her mother to greet her father when he left our world. They will be so pleased to see him.
Our thoughts and thanks for having known such a kind and sweet family.
BUNCO
The first Bunco night of the season was pulled off with a group of fun loving and great Bunco players. Everyone did their share of laughing and shouting "Bunco"
Patti B set the evening off quickly with an amazing 4 buncos to capture the most thrown. This put her a head with 17 wins out of 25 games for the most games won also.
******
Pat A worked so hard to catch her but wasn't able to this week. Next week at 7:00 in our clubhouse on Monday night we will all work to do better.
***
Treats were brought by everyone so we were nibbling on goodies and ice tea.
Hope to see ya'll next week.
Take the time to have a fun in our serious world....
LADYBUGS
Lakewood (Red Hats)Village
LADYBUGS
Queen Mother, Miss Peggi and her
little group, dressed all up this very pretty Monday afternoon and headed out for an afternoon of excitement. They drifted in at our very beautiful Museum of Art over on the Island and thoroughly enjoyed the presentations that they always have available for those who wish to view.
Their gift shoppe is simply adorable and of course that was on their agenda where one of the ladybugs just happened to find the most valuable treasure for herself. They really know how to shop.
****
Can't go without having a pleasant lunch somewhere and today it was at "TooJay's". which is always an inviting atmosphere to investigate. Those who got to attend, did enjoy their time spent with each other. For those who were unable to attend today will get another chance as they will be planning another day out very soon.
****
If you would like to attend any of these ventures with your local Red Hat Ladies(Ladybugs)
Miss Peggi would love to hear from you.......
YESTERYEAR
How many of you can remember?????
October brings the smell of leaves burning, cool crisp air and little bugs everywhere. The thought of little goblins running around and the image of Christmas right around the corner leaves us with a sigh and comfortable feeling.
It was no different 31 years ago right here in our Village.
We were as active then, owned by another corporation, only now the Village belongs to all of us to have and to enjoy. It can be fun to look back and see what we were doing a few years ago.
Have a happy 2010 October....
Week-end report
Would you believe this is a free week-end for everyone to enjoy.....
The weatherman assures us that it is without a doubt one of the nicest
ones we will have in a long time.
Our pool is waiting, the shuffleboard, horseshoes, afternoon strolling, the picnics
and just visiting with your neighbors is right here in your Village.
For those who wish to visit the beach it is only 30 minutes away and since
the storms moved all around us, you sure can take advantage of the area.
*********************
Next week we still have the start of Bunco on Monday Night at 7.
Tuesday morning is Coffee hour and Bingo in the evening. Check out those
Ladybugs as to when they will be roaming around.
Wednesday is Wii Bowling at 7
Check out your newsletter that will be arriving this week. Any questions please
contact the office.
*********************
Let's all praise our RO Board and our L.V. Social Board for all that they do for us as
without either one of them we wouldn't have such a beautiful Village to live and
play in. Take the time and let them know that you appreciate them. This is your
park so take pride in it and give it the best that it deserves.
