Merry Christmas

We want to wish each of you a very Merry Christmas this year.

****
Many wonderful things happened but a recap of our sad news that we
have had.
We have lost 16 of our most lovable residents in this past year and I have a letter that they would like me to give to you. I hope you are able to read these lovely words.
*****
Our Village is looking better each day with all the new residents coming to live with us. We are so excited to have them to join in our activities. Perhaps we need to get out more and look around and be thankful for the great job our RO board, along with our SC board is doing.
*****
May you all have a joyful and happy Christmas this year.

Sad News Today

~~~~~
Saturday night we were informed of the passing of a dear neighbor.
For those who are unaware....This is Robert Bradford....the brother of Doug who left us several months ago.
Robert leaves his wonderful wife Jean who is also the sister to Peg Bradford and lives here in our Village. They live side by side here and enjoyed each other's company.
Perhaps we will see the women around here soon.
********
We extend sympathy and our prayers to the entire Bradford family.
Let it be known we are thinking of them all....
Christmas Caroling.
Last night was a wonderful success... These are only a few of the CHRISTMAS carolers who went caroling around our beautifully decorated Village. I hope you were able to see and hear them singing just for you.
There were 12 colorful carts and a total of 57 people who participated in this 3rd annual event. The weather co-operated where we didn't have any rain and the temperature was very mild. Of course there were fireworks in the sky from another project somewhere that announced the coming of our parade and we all stood in awe before heading out.
******************************
Those who endured the ride or walk, ended up at A19 for a treat of Hot Chocolate and Cold Egg Nog. The cookie table was full and everyone had the choice of many different treats. Everyone stayed around and visited with old and new friends as a lot of laughing and even the children kept singing to us.
******************************
During their venture they got a chance to vote on their choice of the prettiest decorated home in our Village. John D. then proceeded to announce that for the A section the award went to A48 and the East section went to #270 and the south section went to #174. If you didn't receive your award, someone will be notifying you soon. Congratulations to everyone who took the time to make our Village a very beautiful place to live.
******************************
WE want to thank everyone who joined in these few hours to make this holiday a memorable one. Special thanks to Connie who organized the songs and the rides. We all know she loves our park and does everything possible to make it a better place to live. This week will be a busy one for everyone so keep yourselves safe and enjoy this special time.
information that is toooo good to ingore. just Click on it....
*****************************************************
It's beginning to look and feel like Christmas. (brr)
****
Your neighbors and friends will be out this Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. with their singing voices to be heard.
Every one's getting excited about going around the whole Village with their bells and noise makers for you to hear them SING.
****
We will meet at the Clubhouse and proceed to all 3 sections. Hopefully the carts will be available for most to ride but you can walk or use your bikes. Connie will have the music sheets with her so that we all know the words to some of the prettiest music of the season. If you have a boom box on batteries, please bring it with you.
********
Everyone will return to A19 ( McCollam) when the music has ended for their treats of Hot chocolate or Cold Egg Nog. There will be lots of homemade cookies to snack on.
***
This is a fun time to get with your friends and have a little friendship chat...
****
This is the last planned event before Christmas for the Village.
LADYBUGS
Yesterday the Lakewood Village Ladybugs went out to lunch.
13 of our Ladybugs arrived in Sebastian at the "Squid Lips" for a wonderful lunch with a lot of laughs and stories to tell.
***
They gave the last of Nettie's handmade gifts for one lucky lady, and she was Irene. You are one lucky lady....
*****
Now I understand that one lady simply had a wonderful lunch even commented on having lunch in a "Beer Joint". The laughs could be heard everywhere. She is so precious.
****
We hope this fun loving group of Ladybugs enjoy many more outings this Holiday Season.
Sad News Today
This morning I had several reports that made us all very sad.
Last night Delilah (Lila) Thomas passed away at her home #238. When I have more information I will inform everyone what the particulars are regarding her and her family.
Lila was very well known through out our Village and her husband Stu will miss her very much.
***********************************************************
Next news that came to me was that Anthony Mignone #305 had lost his mother this past Sunday over on the west coast of Florida. When Anthony or Amber has more information perhaps they will let us know more what her life was like. Our prayers are with these two families during their time of grief.
***********************************************************
My mother always said: "You should leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them." Perhaps she was right...
Here comes Santa Claus
Your Village clubhouse was bursting with excitement this Saturday morning as a Wonderful Christmas party was held for everyone.
******
These are some of the children who came and chatted with Santa Claus and his reindeer. Everyone had something to talk about to that jolly old Saint Nick. He brought gifts for all the children and even some adults. There was a lot of fun noise heard through out the morning.
****
The brunch turned out some mighty fine dishes that everyone brought and was thoroughly enjoyed along with the coffee and juices. The lines went very quickly as everyone was hungry and didn't leave until it was all gone. Thanks everyone for all the wonderful food.
****
There was the 50/50,
our Eleanor was the winner and so happy that we all cheered her on.
***
A Christmas mind game was played and there were several winners. Great job everyone.
***
WE need to take the time to express our gratitude to the hard working committee who set this all up and cleaned up. The social club still needs many more of us to get out and
volunteer to help with these functions, so lets all get out there and support your fun activities especially this holiday.
~~~~~~~~
It was so good to see some of newest residents show up and enjoy our well planned Christmas party. We hope you will come back again.
*****
Life is short...if you don't stop and take a look around once in a while, you might miss it.
Happy Holidays everyone.....

BUNCO

Chilly night to stay in but we had a really good group show up for our weekly game of Bunco.
**********
The buncos were at a tie with 3 each and they went to Sandy and Barb. We have such fun hollering out this silly game and in the end winning money.
The player who won the most games went to Tom and we all cheered him on as he is one of our newest players. His 18 games out of 25 was a real winner.
****
The player who did all the giggling went to Mickey who didn't have to move very much but we still all cheered her on.
*****
There will be no Bunco next week as there is a private party reserved for our clubhouse that night but the following week, the 20th we will have our Christmas party with snacks and etc.
~~~~~~~~~
Anyone wishing to come and join us is invited to do so. We want to thank all of you who come each week and keep this fun game going. It is one of the oldest games that the park has continued to run. We have enjoyed this hour for many years and will continue to do so.
Live everyday as if it is your last chance to make someone happy.
Yard Sale Results
A few of the best kitchen crew shown here.
The weather put a damper on the Lakewood Village yard sale this year.
We had a great showing from our faithful Village people who showed up in support of your Social Club and what they have tried to do. The bargain tables were full and the prices were wonderful. The kitchen was fantastic as were the Soup Cooks and all the donated Soups that each were tasted with enthusiasm. The kitchen was never without a hustle and bustle all the time. The soups were donated by Connie, Dolores, Vincie, Mickey and Barbara.
Our thanks to this great group who volunteered their time.
The cakewheel was run by Bo and Pat and had a fun time with everyone getting to choose their treat. Our humble thanks to those who donated their favorite cakes.
Don made sure the collection for the bargain tables were in order and greeted everyone who showed up to investigate the sale.
Our special thanks to those who had a table and when they were done, had donated the final wares to the Social Club.
This was a venture of Lakewood Village people and everyone who came. We all had ourselves a great morning visiting.
**********
Next Saturday the Children's Christmas party will be held in the very same clubhouse for all of our Village. The newsletter gave the time and the rest of the story.
We will see you all next week.....
Garage Sale here...
From the information that I could find, there is our Flea-market being held tomorrow in our clubhouse. Should the weather co-operate they will move some tables outside.
***
The hours that I could find are 9 to 4 so mark this down and come over to see if you can find that special item that you have been looking for. The Social Club will have their own booth along with others who will be introducing their wares...
***
The cooler weather invites us to get out and enjoy the crispy clean air and the company of our finest neighbors. See you all tomorrow morning as the cakewheel, the soup kitchen and many other options are awaiting.
Good Luck!!!!!
