Discovery's last launch

Discovery, the world's most traveled spaceship, thundered into orbit this afternoon.
Many Village people stood outside and waited to get a chance to see this amazing trip.
This was Discovery's 39th launch and the 133rd shuttle mission overall.
No other spacecraft has been launched so many times.
***
We here in Lakewood Village have seen many launches in the past as to the north of us the skies are just perfect to watch these missions.
****
Discovery is expected to be eventually put on display by the Smithsonian Institution.
****
Hope everyone has had a chance to see at least one of these beautiful launches. There is to be several more in the next couple months. Watch for them.

We watched the launch from Mulligans. There were a LOT of folks out sitting on the quay - and everyone (waitresses, cooks, and all) went out to watch it when it launched. It was quite moving!
