Yep! they are there...

On this cloudy morning after coffee hour a few dedicated anglers went over to the island here in our village.
~
You may recognize them as Doug M, Jim M. and our own Grandmama. They took the time to drown a few worms and their rewards were outstanding.
They were laughing and trying to figure out just what they had caught.
If you want to find out, all you have to do is ask them.
~~
Anyone can fish the area's on the Lake's shores that don't surround someone's property along with the Island.
Get your poles out and have some fun.

Bridal Shower

A Bridal Shower
~
Barb E. and her daughters hosted a shower this week-end in our beautifully decorated clubhouse that so many wonderful people enjoyed.
~
Karina B.
~
The girls all had a marvelous time chatting and laughing with Karina and her wonderful family.
The guest of honor was showered with many usable gifts that we all were extremely happy for her.
~
Bridal Bingo was the mixer that everyone enjoyed as many won the beautiful prizes.
~
Along came the most beautiful decorated table of out of this world food that we had a hard time deciding what to choose. The cake was adorned with red roses and lots of whipped creame.
~
We all wish Karina and Jose the best in the coming months with their wedding.
~
May your troubles be less,
Your blessings more,
and may nothing but happiness,
come through your door.
~~~~
Hope your week-end went well.
~~~~~
Be sure to let me know of any new residents that have become your neighbors. We will want to welcome them to our Village and let them know all the activities that we have to offer.
There are many things here to keep us all busy.
~
Don't forget to attend our Community Coffee hour each Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. This is a great way to see your friends and neighbors and
what they have been up to.
~
Come out and support your Social Club's Bingo each Tuesday night at 5:30. You could be the next winner.
~
The month of September is almost gone and soon our Snowbirds will be returning. Be sure to watch for them.
~
Have a safe day.

Greetings from Canada

Wonderful News:
~
After a mix up in e-mail addresses, we finally got it right.
~~~
Rick & Sharon D.
~~~~~~
The summer has been flying by so quickly with all that has
happened with family and friends.
~
They had a very wet season but that was not their only problem.
Rick had surgery in June and is recuperating very well. He should
be ready for golf up on returning to our Village.
Good shot Rick.
~
They have been in touch with so many of our neighbors,
The Bradfords, The Francis, The Allinotts, The Robertsons, The
Craigs, The Kings and several more. WOW! That sounds really
wonderful to see so many friends during the summer.
~
They are starting their shutdown and hope to begin
their journey back to "Paradise" Lakewood Village
around the 3rd week in October.
We will all be looking forward to when they arrive and
see their wonderful smiles and exciting stories.
~~
Thanks for the update as we all appreciate your news.
~
Good Luck on your drive down and
keep safe.

Some people cause happiness wherever they go,
and some people cause happiness
whenever they go.

Lakewood Village Girls

Friday a group of girls from our own Lakewood Village decided to
spend the day going to the movies and out to lunch.
Everything went according to plan but for a few detours.
Lunch ended up at the Mall and all different meals.
This along with all caused many laughing giggles. Of
course this is typical of Oueen Peg and her
Red Hat Ladies.
~~
These girls never fail to have but the most, laughable,
funny and wonderful time whenever they get to-gether.
I know there is more to the story so you could ask any one
of them what really happened.
Peg, Alice, Mary, Nancy, Nettie, Delores.
It is always fun to see what those girls come up with.
Maybe next time you will be invited.....

Where were you?

Do you remember where
you were when you first heard this?
Many of us were at our coffee hour and
found it unbelieveable as to
what happened.
This has been 7 years ago tomorrow
and still feels like only yesterday.
Perhaps we need to take moment to
remember all those who
are no longer with us.
~~
Get Outside every day.
Miracles are waiting everywhere.

update

Eleanor S.

Update on Weather

Hurricane Ike is a very strong Category 3 storm and its path is still very much uncertain. As far as a specific landfall location however, Florida is a very likely location at the present time.

There is a very high probability that we will be required to fully implement our hurricane procedures. Please all, take this week-end to prepare for its coming. If you have any questions regarding this storm, the office has information what supplies you need to stock as well as other resources that may be available.

Personal safety is a must! As we found out after the 2004 storms, property can be replaced but lives cannot!! Above all, stay safe. Do whatever it takes to keep safe.
Mind you, this is only a precaution.
We all need to take this storm seriously and still be practical.
If more comes in I will try to keep you posted.

Week-end coming up

OK..everyone.
We are all watching the weather reports on the TUBE.
Now is the time to get everything together and prepare for whatever is being thrown at us.
If we get only wind and rain, we will all be able to ride that out.
If more comes, at least in the past, someone will let us know when we must do something else.
We will do whatever we are told...
My hopes are that we have had enough and are going to be just fine.
Keep tuned in on all communications available and heed the advice of the experts.
In the meantime enjoy the mild weather we are experiencing.

News from friends

Bo and Pat A.
~
They had planned on returning very soon but due to the storms approaching will wait to see what develops in the next few days.
All is well with them and they have been faithful in keeping in touch with the Village.
~
Hazel P & Dorothy M.
~
Hazel just had another birthday, yippee...
Sends her thanks to all who remembered her. Things are not going according to plans with her and the family.
Ed now has hospice in several times when it is needed.
He has some bad days so they help her out.
Dorothy has company now to help her out as she is able to relax to some degree. The winter is approaching and none of them are looking forward to it.
We are sure they wish they were down here to enjoy the Village.
Our hearts go out to these wonderful people and wish them the best to come.

Life isn't fair, but it is still good.
