More on Easter

Today we will focus on Sunday.
FAMILY
Perhaps we need to create new family holiday traditions and fellowships.
Lets enjoy the feeling of spring in our Village.
Take pictures for the next generation and share the burden of
setting up the traditional dinner feast whatever or wherever it may be held.
Have some fun at your Spring gathering and remember why
we are celebrating this wonderful holiday.
Perhaps you will be joining friends in a church service as this
is one beautiful day in the Christian spirit.
There's nothing more important than enjoying yourself with the
ones you love. Relax and feel the stress ease away as you
catch up on old times and exchange ideas.
There are 5 things you cannot recover in life:
1-The stone after it's thrown
2-The word after it's said
3-The occasion after it's missed
4-The time after it's gone and
5-A person after they die.
We in Lakewood Village wish you all a safe and Happy Easter this year.

Easter week

Please come.....Family Easter Breakfast and egg hunt.
Saturday April 3 at 9:00 a.m. in our fun Clubhouse.
Your social club is sponsoring the morning with excitement promised for all
our residents to enjoy.
Perhaps if we look real hard we might even see a guest or two. We are one very lucky Village
with so many volunteers to keep these programs going.
Last year we had several of our residents enjoying the free breakfast and I know we will
remember the good times that were had by all. Don't miss out on this gathering on Saturday.
Don't forget this is for all the young at heart...

Big Bunco Scores

The night was once again received very well by 16
players.
The evening was spent in great competition once again.
Most Bunco's this week....
Barb
Most Games won:
A tie between Dolores and Barb
(sorry Bo maybe next week)
The hot seat this week was earned by our
Nancy C.
She worked so hard for it. Good show.
Treats were provided by Rita, Patti and Mickey.
On another Note!!!!
Next week the players are going to have a lunch
with all the players. Each are supplying a snack
to finish off the night.
We know several will be heading back up north so
we want to send them on their way with a laugh and belly
full. See you all next Monday.

Easter week

We are getting ready for the upcoming Easter week. We will begin with the thought of an Easter parade. The Easter parade is an American cultural event consisting of a promenade on Easter Sunday. Typically, it is a somewhat informal and unorganized event.
Persons participating in an Easter parade traditionally dress in fashionable new clothes. Out comes the beautiful dresses along with the decorated hats, gloves. Truly to impress everyone. We here in Village will just have to do with perhaps a Sunbonnet, flip-flops and a coverall over our bathing suits. It is a day to have fun.
Next we will look into a traditionally Easter Egg hunt and I will cook this up for possibly on tomorrow's information. Here in the Village we are always looking for ways to have fun.
Keep tuned in....................

Good News

Just had word.....

Barb E. has been released from the hospital
and the family is with her.
We are so happy to have her back in the
Village with us.
Stay healthy Barb...

Another note.
Doug B. is still in the hospital with his family
attending to his needs. He is slowly responding
to their treatments and we certainly wish them
well.

Another note.

Bob O. is back home after another hospital stay.
The family is looking after him and YES Bob it
is ok to complain when it hurts.
It really takes a long time to come back after you
have been down for so long.
We know that all our friends will work hard and
listen to the professionals so that they can
join in our wonderful activities once again.

Community Sale

Today the Village held their yearly community
yard sale with a brisk turnout.
Many treasures were found and the Social
Club was pleased with their hard work.
Everyone who came were happy with the
assortment of wares that were presented.
Your Social Club prepared many different types
of soup and grilled hot dogs and hamburgers for
our pleasure. Guests were pleased with the hot foods
and delighted with the final results.
Thank you!!!!! All you wonderful volunteers who worked
so hard for your Village. We appreciate your dedication.
We all look forward to when we can do this again
soon.

Something to think about

There has been some interest expressed in the recording of our
Village functions now and in the past. I have only taken pictures but some were taping the event. If anyone out there would like to share their recording treasure please give GRACE G. a call and she will direct you. This is a wonderful idea for any season here in our community with our large screen available to you all. It will be so much fun to look back and see what everyone has done and how we have changed. Please check your camera's and libraries for anything helpful to this project.
Thank you - Good show Grace..
If you check out, on the right for" Lakewood Village links" and "Lakewood Village web pages", you will find some valuable information about our Community. Craig's List also is available.

Another note! Monday April 12 will be the last community cook-out in the A section. Please put this on your must do list....

We are fast approaching Palm Sunday and we would like to
observe this special day.

beginning of Holy week.
The date for Palm Sunday 2010 is 28 March.
Each one can enjoy this day in their own way and we
wish everyone a pleasant one.

Suffleboard finals.

Today was the final shuffleboard tournament games.
Time for a little relaxation after the meal that they all
consumed.
Marilyn and Martha made sure that everyone had plenty to
eat before sending them on their way.
Out came the chicken and sub sandwiches along with some
other outstanding dishes. Even the wonderful brownies
that June brought over were appreciated.
At least 15 people showed up to enjoy the last league play
of Lakewood Village's shuffleboard for the season.
The equipment is available to all residents who wish to
practice up on the very easy game.
Check it out....and have some fun.
Thanks once again to Miss Peggi.

Hospital News

Several reports from the hospital!
Barb E. has been in the hospital this week having multitude of tests done.
The family is with her to cheer her on.
We are watching this beautifully frail lovely lady closely. Her family will keep us posted.
Doug B. also is in the local hospital for the second time and the doctors are keeping a close watch on him. You all know Doug as he is on our Board of Directors and we are
sending our dear Peg and the family our prayers.
In Melbourne our Dick M. has been resting for several months and we are waiting
word as to his condition.
Also we know that Ernie H. is just down the hall from Dick and we hope that they are being neighborly as they were here in our Village.
If someone whom we here in the Village know and who could use a pick-r-uper let us know and we will do what we can.
Our prayers go out to our neighbors and wish them all a speedy recovery.
The best time to make friends is before you need them.
