Happy St. Patrick's Day

May the luck of the Irish be with you

This Saturday is St. Patty's day and some are sure to celebrate with a jig or two.  Don't forget that corned beef and cabbage with the trimmings.
The Village doesn't have anything special planned but there are several activities around the town for you to look into.

You are as old as your doubts and fears, and as young as your hopes and dreams.

Vistors

Hazel has let us know that she has been on the run lately with family and what they have been doing.  Her grandson was here for a few days and they did a little fishing in our lake and waited for the rain to stop so they could use our pool.  Next they decided to head to Orlando for some more excitement  but Hazel opted to stay home as she is having a surprise visitor this week.  Let us know how that comes out...  Good to see Hazel sooooo busy..

News of Interest

This is the scene in Penn. for Rod and Deb.  Ron is very ill and had requested that Bailey come to be with them.  Their wish was granted.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the whole family and know that Florida wishes them wonderful memories.

Today Rod moved on to the next  phase of his life.  We will all remember and praise him for his courage in this life.  Hopefully I will be given more information to be passed on to you.  We will all miss this gentle man...

Bowling went well with a surprise from  Carole and Dawn.
Everyone came to bowl and found out that Don had his birthday and there was a cake and gifts waiting for a fun evening.
Everyone bowled and did a little jig once in a while.

They still bowl each Wednesday night at 6:30.

I chatted with several people who attended the Can-Am open 5th Annual International golf tournament and it seems they all enjoyed the time spent with each other.  The wind was terrific and it did things to those golf balls and to hair styles that had them scrambling.  Many thanks to those who joined in to make the day memorable.  Not sure who came out the big winner except it sounded like everyone was a winner..  GOOD LUCK next year
I have  the captains for the Canadian team and they are Tucker and Andrea L.  The captains for the American Team is Jack Y. and John G.
 The american team
The Canadian Team
We want to acknowledge the fine job that was done with these 100 or so golfers who spent the day together.

News from Oregon

Had a fun note from Diane and the progress of their life in Coos Bay.
It sounds like spring is trying to push it's way into the area but those storms still persist.  The fruit trees are slowly budding so that means that spring isn't to far away.  They have their wood fire going to cozy up to as a they still have their foster baby.  Diane is happy to just have a little one around.
Keith is doing quite well even in the cooler weather.  He goes to the senior center 3 times a week to play water volleyball. Way to go Keith.

I do believe they are really waiting for the weather to break as I know that Diane is getting anxious to plant her garden.
Best to all of you from all of us....

New look

Jo and Pat
In case you haven't noticed your library now has a beautiful donated table and chairs.  Some dedicated Lakewood Village Resident figured we could use a place to sit for a moment to pick out a book to take home.  A couple of residents were checking it out. Thanks to who ever you may be.  It sure looks wonderful.
Our thanks to our Village for providing us with a nice clean place to trade books, puzzles and videos. Let's all try to keep this working.
By the way!!!!Happy Birthday today Doug...many more with us....
