Neighbors helping Neighbors

Nick and Judy DeCherico have lived in Lakewood Village for 34 years. They will be celebrating 56 years of marriage on April 3. Nick was 91 on January 22nd and Judy will be 90 years old on July 2nd.

Elmer, Bo, and Robin replace the deck at Nick and Judy's. The old one had gotten to rotten to be safe - so the 3 "boys" got together and replaced it.

New Social Club Board Installed

Under the glittering stars in our beautiful clubhouse,
Delorse Henry, our Grand Marshal,
complimented the outgoing Board
for their outstanding performance these last 2 years
and presented each with a
complimentary rose and praises for thier
hard work on the many events they worked on.

The new and impressive Board Officers were introduced with the
swearing in of each new member.
Smiles beaming eveywhere as it is the
beginning of the new Board and with
fresh and inventive ideas coming to benefit all of us.
The meeting ended with a large decorated cake,
coffee and conversation.
The meeting was a huge success with a
lot of hand shaking and well wishes by all.
"Good Luck to Our New Social Club Board"
Meetings are the 2nd Thursday of every month
at 7 PM. Bring your thoughts, ideas,
and great attitude to the meetings!

Tuesday Bingo

Nancy Conners is the Captian of the Volunteer Team that worked Bingo this last Tuesday. There was a little over 1/2 of a room full of players that were busy daubing thier cards in thier quest for the "prize"!

The Social Club sponsors our Tuesday Bingo. It is the only consistant income that the Social Club has. The very small percentage that the Club keeps helps to pay for the Park-Wide Parties and to offset the costs of the other events that we have. There is also a Galley which offers several different items for break. Coffee and Ice Water is complimentary. If you don't want to work - come play!! Support your Social Club!!

Jerolyn (our Past President) set up weekly teams of Volunteers to work the Bingo - It really takes quite a few people each week. If you happen to have a few hours - or even - for some of the duties - an hour or so - to help out - give Jerolyn a call and she will put you in touch with one of the Team Captains.

This last Tuesday Norm Emard, Bob Ozment, and Diane Beatty were the callers. Jerolyn and Mickey did the Galley, I have no idea who the volunteers were that did the set up and selling of the books, daubers, 50/50's, and get orders for 1/2 time. Carey and Barb Emard assisted Nancy with the clean up - as well as Mike Palazo, who comes in and empties the garbage while he is waiting for Rita to finish up :)

Bingo usually runs from September thru May - so give a call to volunteer or mark Tuesday Bingo on your calendar to come play - Doors open at 5 PM!!

See ya there!!!

Easter Sunday

Easter is Sunday, March 23, 2008

For those who haven't yet made plans. . . .
The Crossings Community Church has extended an invitation to all of our Residents to attend Easter Service at 10:30 on Easter Sunday morning.

The Crossings is the church that provided all of the big 'jump houses' for our Mardi Gras party and they also provided a nice service at our Clubhouse on Christmas Eve.

Pastor Craig says "meet us at The Crossings Easter Sunday".

The Crossings Community Church is on 90th Avenue just south of the Village.

Office Staff

Come meet our office staff

Greeting you with a smile is Adriana Williams. If you have a problem she will direct you to the proper channel. The one you don't see to much of is our bookkeeper, Tamra Lewis. She hides in her little room with all the books and answers to our money problems but does it so well. Last but not least is our brave Manager, Kyse Manson. You have no doubt met her at one time or another. She is the driving force in the office. Always there to answer any questions that are bothering you. Please go in, introduce yourselves and let them know how much you appreciate their continuous work.

Activity Building

News......Activity Building is finally on it's way down the finish line! Stucco has been completed and now we are just waiting for it to dry (2 weeks) and then it will be painted. We still need the required hand rails on the ramp to be occupation ready but we are waiting sort of patiently for this much needed building. Will keep you posted...
