Big bunco night

The biggest night of the year for Bunco came to the clubhouse this week.
We were hosts to 19 players and some outstanding games were produced.
Our most bunco's thrown were 3 and by Nancy C that we all cheered as wonderful.
Most games won were by Glenn with his great 23 out of 30.
Second place went to Mike with his 21 games out of 30.
Third place with her 20 games went to Nancy C.  This was her first time back this season.  Great playing.
The most popular chair this evening went to Tom as he liked his chair so well he didn't have to move very much.
****
A great night was had by all who came and supported this fun fast moving game of dice.  We invite all who wish to join us next week at 7 on Monday in our clubhouse.
****
Thanks Jo for helping to mark all the scores so that the games moved right along.  Everyone appreciated the swiftness of the marking.
The whole gang came
See you next week....

Happy Birthday

Bill W. 85th birthday
 Saturday night was the scene in our clubhouse for the 85th birthday of Bill W.  Even though he wasn't really surprised, we think he was surprised how many friends and neighbors came to honor him.
Everyone was there  to wish him many more birthdays and several  tributes were made to this fine gentleman.
His daughter, Paula, planned this wonderful party with beautiful foods, drinks, and fun music.  Each one was treated to a simply lovely night.
We know Bill will remember this for a very long time.   Happy Birthday Bill..

Beautiful day with Beautiful Ladies

Hostess Connie

LAKEWOOD VILLAGE  presents their annual TEA PARTY
co-hostess Patti

Hazel and her family

The weather started out chilly but the day became a ray of sunshine for almost 60 women who got to have their tea and tea cakes.  The clubhouse was such a lovely place to be with the tables decorated with some of the finest china and some mismatched tea service.  The flowers on each table gave us the garden feeling with all the sandwich's and indescribably Delicious desserts.  There were so many who jumped in to help that I'm not sure that I could name them all but they were there and were recognized and we all appreciated the efforts that everyone did for all the ladies at the Lakewood Village Tea Party 2012,
I would like to mention that we were very honored to have Dr. Nancy Baker who came and talked and answered questions that the ladies had on their minds.  Thank You Doctor.
The background music was presented by Chad N. who generously enjoyed the strumming while everyone ate.  Our thanks to you" Mr. Music".
All the prizes were awarded and most of them were donated so they all were so very special.  Perhaps you were one of the lucky  names drawn.  Thanks to all our special friends.....
Last but not least:  All of you who came back and helped clean up your clubhouse.  You just gotta love those guys of ours.  Including Glenn, Jim, Dave, Chad, Nathan and the gals who stayed around.
Happy 80th Cecil... Hope you enjoyed your birthday.
My personal thanks go to your hostess, kitchen and all those who baked for us.  Connie, Patti, and Jo made it so much easier to present this wonderful afternoon.  (  I enjoyed the tea also...)

Ladies enjoying their tea
A NOTE!!!!! Your pictures are at the Clubhouse for you to pick up Monday night and through out the week..  Enjoy them.......

First week of the year.

What a beautiful week we  had here.  The weather has been almost perfect.  Everyone has been trying to get out and move around the Village.  Hope you  had such an opportunity to check out the activities that we have had.
Thursday was the last day for anyone to purchase new tickets for the Lakewood Village Ladies Tea. There had been some on reserve and picked up this week-end.  This created a completely full house and everything is a go for next Saturday.  What a day it will be.  A clubhouse full of Women who are simply happy.    This will be something wonderful.   Ladies don't forget to bring your ticket with you as it is your entry into the Tea House.  We await for you all to come.  You must be there by 1:45 pm to register in and have your picture taken.
****

 Rick and Sharron:   have a safe trip this week and see you next week-end.

New Year

A great new year is here and things are going to happen around here.
****
The weather has changed from our normal Florida hot days.  We now have cool (Brrr) sunny days and cool nights.  This is a welcome to our  groves as this sweetens the fruit.  The oranges are now in and they are wonderful.
***
At our Clubhouse we are still having Coffee hour and a few extra people have come in.  We welcome you all to come and share a cup of coffee along with a fresh donut...
Bocci was short lived this week as the wind was blowing quite hard and it was a little to chilly.  They will continue next week.
~~~~~~~
Bridge was played at their usual time.  Leween delivered the scores and what a day they had:  Marilyn sailed in with a 2740: Bob followed her with a 2160:Tied with Edith and her 2160:  Margaret jumped in with a 2050.  The best news of all was they all witnessed a first of the year::   Marilyn and Margaret D. were successful in claiming the first Grand Slam.  This is not easily accomplished...Great going girls.....(added note!  Leween's granddaughter played golf today and hit a hole in one).  What a day for John and Leween...
~~~~~~
Bowling continued at 6:30 pm and everyone had a great time getting all those strikes but of course we had our energy treat from Carole T.  Carrot cake is simple delicious.  Thanks again.
I understand that the Village's picnic is still going.  They meet at the picnic area on Monday afternoon.
****
The social club will meet tonight to hopefully have enough interest to continue working the LVSocial Club.  If you want to help them, please speak up.
****
Also you will notice the green evergreen tree has been left up and ready for other holiday greetings.  If you wish to hang a picture or two of a loved one on it, it would be interesting.  Events coming up will have decorations of that holiday.  Check it out.

Your annual TEA PARTY has a deadline on selling tickets and it is now....If you have reserved your tickets and wish to attend, please pick them up.  The committee will be purchasing the food and etc. this week-end.  If you would like to help set up on Friday afternoon( the 13th) in the clubhouse, please come over and see what is being done.  You will be amazed at what a great time you will have.  Call Connie if you need something connected to the Tea Party.  January 14th at 2:00 p.m.  Saturday in our clubhouse.....
*****
Let's get together and enjoy our beautiful Village. Our sympathies go out to the families of Rick Smith and David Carlstrom.
****
Enjoy yourself...These are the "Good old days" you're going to miss in 20 years.
