Dick's Retirement

Last night Lakewood Village hosted a
surprise Retirement party for our own
Dick M.
Dick was completely surprised!!!!
Speechless and humbled by the
friends and family who came to honor
a great man and his working career.
~~~
Dick has been working for us around
9 years and you could have seen him
early in the day cleaning up trash that
overnight appeared.
We can credit him with the repair of most
all of our mailboxes and always had a wave
and a smile on his face.
~~
I know he is retired but rest assured we
will see him around our Village, so besure
you stop and let him know how much you
appreciated all the hard work he has done
for us.
~~~
My special thanks to the R.O. board, and
the social club along with our Manager
and staff for presenting the wonderful
evening to a really nice man.

From Canada

Had a wonderful note from Rick & Sharron D.
~~~~
They are missing our beautiful warm weather
and looking forward to this fall.
~~
Bridge has been their passion here and
have gotten together with
Bob & Marilyn C. for a game along
with our friends
Larry & Marie C.
***
Larry hasn't been feeling too well lately
but still has that twinkle in his eye and
a smile for all.
~~~~
It's always fun and interesting to hear
from them as they live their summers
in the north.
~~
Thanks and keep us posted....

Lou C.

Deb C. reported to us that Lou is now in the
hospital up north.
They said he has pneumonia and will be
hospitalized for several more days.
He is a strong willed man and will
soon get to come home.
***
We are so sorry that his visit has been
interrupted at this point but we wish him well
in his recovery.
***
Nancy has been at his bedside the whole
time and is anxious for him to get back to
their fun vacation.
***
Thinking of you both here in the Village.

Uninvited visitor

Tonight we had a visitor in our Village!
Some of us were on hand to witness the Animal Control at work.

I did not have my camera with me so if anyone got pictures, could you get one to me so I can share with everyone. It was an experience that we should all be aware of. I will try to get the story to you as soon as I get the information.

Thanks to Carlos B. for getting these pictures to me so fast.
This is a 7ft. alligator that wandered into our Village around 7:00 this evening and was chased out to 90th.

The best response is to quickly call 911 to have someone come and handle the problem safely and according to the law. Please be careful around any of the wild animals that we have around our Village. They are WILD and therefore are not to be messed with. Thanks to everyone who stayed out of the way for the Florida Animal Control officer to get his job done.

They did a fine job of cantaining the large alligator. Out thanks go out to him also.

A footnote:
Now is the time to prepare for the up coming
season. You should start planning your
survival supplies and have things cleared up
in your yards.
I know hurricane season is coming and it
wouldn't hurt to be aware of what can
happen even though it could be a couple of
months away.
Good Luck
