Wonderful surprise.

Bo and Pat A. had a wonderful surprise
this last week-end.
Jerry and Linda A, Bo's brother,
came to visit and this was the first time
in almost 50 years.
This was a time for old memories
and happy thoughts.
It is time we all begin to think of our families
and get together more often.
One thing you can't recycle is wasted time.
Good luck Bo & Pat in N.C and hurry back.

Heading up North

Nick & Judy D.
have left for the summer and
already missing their friends and neighbors.
They have had a rough winter so their daughter
wanted them to come and spend the summer with her.
We wish them a safe, healthy journey and we will
be thinking of these two long time friends.
Happy Birthday July 2 to Judy. (90)
Way to go girl..

Update on this week

Reports are in for Bunco, Bingo.
Bunco was held Monday as usual but had a wonderful
turnout. Celebrated the 3 birthdays with a
surprise cake and best of wishes.
Thanks to Connie....
This event is only $.50. you can't beat that.
All are welcome to play each Monday at 7:00.
Tuesday.
Bingo was in full swing at 6:30 with a very good
group of lucky winners. Each table had a least
one winner. Lots of fun and laughter was had by all.
Our grateful thanks to Nancy C. and her very capable crew.
This is to continue next week under the direction
of Barb E. and her committee with Nancy.
We all need to get out and support this most
fun and relaxing evening. It is only $1.00
A real bargain for the whole evening.
Other news came in on Mickey O's fabulous cruise
to Alaska. This was a first for her and she has
recommended this to everyone. She is anxious to go again.
Had word that Dorothy M. is doing better after her many bouts with the cold weather. We are watching her progress as we all wish her the best of health.
The best vitamin for making friends .....B1.

Thank You

The Davis Family would like to take this moment to Thank everyone during this past week. Your cards, calls, and prayers have meant so much to all of the family.

They gave us the comfort of knowing that we have so many caring and thoughtful friends who were thinking of all of us.

We miss little Nancy and her husband but you all let us know that we could count on our friends and neighbors in our time and need.

These remembrances have meant to the Davis Family.

Nancy Davis

Reflections

Nancy is home now and collecting her thoughts.
The family is doing well considering all that has happened.
The memorial services for Nancy & Gary went well.
She has her daughter, Becky, with her until the
end of the week to help her adjust.

John and Stormy are here to help her and
themselves realize the lost of their very own.
We will let them have a few days to read all those
cards that were sent to the family and get as much needed
time with each other.
Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet
is fighting some kind of battle.
Our hearts and prayers are with the Davis family.

Nancy Barrs

Our own Nancy Davis lost her daughter Sunday June 15, 2008.
This was unexpected for all in the family.
Nancy Ann was the daughter of Nancy and brother to John Davis who
both live here in our Village.
Nancy Ann was 39.
Services will be conducted Thursday, June 19, 2008 at 4:00 pm
in Gainsville, Florida
Please keep Nancy and John in your thoughts and prayers
and when they return to their homes
let them know how much you are thinking of them.
Condolences can be sent to A21 or 242 in the Village.
Good friends are like Stars.
You don't always see them.
But you always know they are there!!!!
Sorry to report but the memorial services for Nancy Ann Barrs was postponed until Sat due to the unexpected death of her husband Gary Alan Barrs on Thursday.
I don't have much more information on this but will report
when this comes available.
God works in such a way that we don't understand everything that is happening but will when he is ready for us.
Keep your prayers coming in for the Davis family because at this moment they need all that they can get.

Father's Day Luncheon

Happy Father's Day Our Father's Day Cooks
Mary L. Dot B, Phyliss B, Sherry W, Jessie C.

At noon today your wonderful Social Club served their annual Father's Day Luncheon. Some 40 people enjoyed their hard work and delicious meal.

Everyone had their plates full and even seconds were enjoyed.

A beautiful decorated Father's Day cake was served and was acknowledged that Carlo and Elizabeth made the treat even though they were unable to attend.

Thank You.

We want to thank the SC board for all the time and hard work that they put in so we could have a good time. The 50/50 was won by Sal F. Have fun with your winnings.

On another note...

We had bad news concerning Nancy D

Her daughter Nancy had passed away this morning. John and Stormy along with Nancy are in Gainsville to attend to the business that must be taken care of. Our hearts and prayers are with them and they will let me know what is happening and I will then let you know.

As of this week:

Life

Just a thought for the day.....
Life is not measured by the number of breaths
we take,
but by the moments that take our breath away.
We have so many moments to be thankful for and to enjoy.
Take a look around you and all the friends that you
have and all the wonderful neighbors .
Go outside and meet up with all your friends
and next door neighbors.
Life is too short to ignore all that is here...

Around the Village.

Remember the Sheldon's ?
They are doing great in spite of family illiness and goofy weather there. It was good to hear from them as they are old and dear friends. They were always willing hands, very helpful, lots of fun, and very active in our Village.
Ron S.
He was not feeling to well the other day and we were all concerned. He is up and out and about on his scooter once again. It is always a treat to see him up and scooting around. Be sure you wave when he comes by. Good to see you up and scooting again.

Mickey O.
We should hear in a week or two how she came out on
her first airplane ride & cruise.
Hopefully she will take lots of pictures as
well as a lot of funny stories to tell.
Good luck Mickey....

A word from Delores H
....She is in Virginia with her daughter and her surgery ended with quite a blessing. Her daughter came thru her surgery with flying colors. Everyone was so relieved to hear that she should not have to go thru any Chemo or Radiation treatments. What wonderful news to all of us. Things went well enough that Delores will return to the rest of the family in Ohio very soon and begin to enjoy her summer. We all wish you the best and bring home many interesting stories to entertain us.
The Beatty's
Heard from your editor and they are enjoying their first days of summer.
Went clam digging and had a blast....
Family reunion is set for the 5th of July and Keith is making sure the whole
family will be there. He is doing much better after his bout with poison weeds.
Keith got his fishing license and is hoping to go out and catch their dinner..
Diane is gathering jars to can all the tuna, clams, and big fish that they will catch.
Sounds like they are going to be pretty busy for the summer.
Hopefully they will find time to rest up so when they return they will be ready to jump in
on our busy activities. Best of luck to them all.

And what have you been doing here in our glorious Village?
The Beatty family
You remember the group that preformed for us at coffee hour?
Diane's son-in-law brought his family to visit with the Beatty's and did
a wonderful interpretation and we were in awe as to how this courageous
family came together for just us.
Well now the father, BRETT is serving his country in Thailand and we
want to thank him and keep him in our prayers.
